Shortrun Award 2012

PAO PAIXAO won the Shortrun Award 2012 for his film project «KALI YUGA - From Ganga to Bollywood». The jury decided unanimously in favour of this project. Pao Paixao takes the audience along on a journey to India. What he discovers on this journey draws the jury‘s interest and makes them want to see the finished film. On the one hand there is profound spirituality and lively tradition, on the other hand shrill modernism and unrestrained consumption. The contrast could not be greater. In his film Pao aims to depict the transformation of society. And he does so with convincing pictures. His philosophical concept is plausible and up-to-date. And at the same time it is also a big challenge. The jury believe in the director and want to support him on his exciting venture.
